The County’s Human Resources Department covers a vast variety of responsibilities, such as posting all available jobs, the development of the position description, candidate interviews, new hire orientation, assisting with the benefit process, new hire state reporting and the required E-Verify and SAVE immigration reporting.
The department is responsible for Risk Management such as Safety training, Workers Compensation, the Drug Free Workplace Program, the Department of Transportation’s Drug and Alcohol Program, the Federal Transit Reporting responsibilities.
Many federal mandates are administered by the Human Resources Department, such as FMLA, ADA, EEO, Title VI, Department of Labor guidance to County employees, Unemployment, Motor Vehicle Record checks and Background checks.
The main responsibility of the Human Resources Department is the development of and adherence to the County Policy and the overall employee/employer relationship.
