Prosecutes misdemeanor cases and violations of the county code in the State Court of Catoosa County.
Handles misdemeanor charges such as simple battery, simple assault, stalking, driving under the influence, shoplifting, and criminal trespass, and traffic charges.
Conducts bench trials, jury trials, and hearings in State Court and represents the State in appellant matters.
Negotiates pleas.
Provides information, resources and support to victims of crime.
May recommend a sentence of up to twelve months in jail, up to $1,000 in fines, misdemeanors and/or probation ($5,000 for High and Aggravated).
May refer appropriate cases to Pretrial Intervention or Diversion Programs.
Investigates charges, meets with the arresting officer and interviews witnesses to prepare for court.
Prosecutes cases transferred from the Superior Court or from Municipal Courts.
